Huawei SmartAX MA5606T Multi-service Access Module (hereinafter referred to as the MA5606T) is a multi-service access product launched by Huawei. It has the following orientations:
1, As a mini–digital subscriber line access multiplexer (mini-DSLAM), it provides a small number of users with access to the Internet independently or by subtending with the MA5600T.
2, As an optical network unit (ONU) in a gigabit-capable passive optical network (GPON), it provides GPON uplink connections, thus realizing fiber to the neighborhood (FTTN) access by coordinating with the optical line terminal (OLT) at the central office.
In the upstream direction, the MA5606T provides the following ports:
* GPON port (for uplink connection)
* Gigabit Ethernet (GE) optical ports (for uplink connection and subtending)
* Fast Ethernet (FE) optical ports (for uplink connection and subtending).
In the downstream direction, the MA5606T offers the following service ports:
* Asymmetrical digital subscriber line (ADSL) and ADSL2+
* Single-pair high-speed digital subscriber line (SHDSL)
* Very high speed digital subscriber line 2 (VDSL2)
* P2P FE optical port.
The fans are installed on the left side of the chassis for heat dissipation.
The MA5606T has four board slots, of which:
1, Slot 0 is located on the upper left side of the chassis. It houses the power supply board.
2, Slot 1 is located on the upper right side of the chassis. It houses the main control board.
3, The main control board is wider than the power supply board. This helps to avoid mis-insertion.
4, The service board is wider than both the main control board and the power supply board.
This helps to avoid mis-insertion.
5, The number of service and splitter (SPL) boards to be configured depends on the service types and traffic volumes.
− The service boards reside in slots 2 and 3.
− The SPL board resides only in slot 2.
It is 2 U high. It can be installed into:1, A 19-inch wide cabinet;2,A 300 mm deep ETSI cabinet.
MABM :It provides the service and control bus to connect with the service board and the main control board.
MPWA: It is a –48 V DC power interface board. It supports the following functions:
* Supplying power to the main control & uplink board and the fan
* Monitoring the power module.
MCUA :It is the main control function and the uplink function. It also provides one serial port for environment monitoring. It supports hot swapping.
* When attached with the O2FN subboard, the MCUA provides two FE optical ports, with the transmission
distance of 15 km (single-mode) or 2 km (multi-mode).
* When attached with the O2GN subboard, the MCUA provides two GE optical ports, with the transmission
distance of 10 km (single-mode) or 500 m (multi-mode).
* When attached with the GP1A subboard, the MCUA provides one GPON port, with the transmission distance
of 20 km (single-mode).
ADIF: 32-port ADSL2+ over ISDN interface board.It supports:
* External splitter; * 600Ohm real impedance; * Surge protection; * Hot swapping.
