Complete Introduction of ZTE GPON ONU F832 10G MDU

ZTE ZXA10 F832 from Hong Telecom is an MDU (LAN) that meets the requirements of replacing copper cables with fiber optic cables. It can be used together with OLTs via EPON/GPON/10G EPON/XG-PON1 connections in P2MP optical access scenarios.

The ZXA10 F832 is suitable for FTTB, FTTO and FTTM scenarios. With enriched Ethernet access and VoIP functions, it is widely used in residential and commercial buildings.

The ZXA10 F832 supports the following configurations according to customers’ penetration (POTS is optional):

Hardware Architecture of ZTE F832 ONU:
The whole system is composed of main control module, uplink module, POTS subscriber module and power module (not shown in Figure 6). The logical architecture and interface definition are also displayed in this figure.
Uplink Module
Uplink Module provides xPON uplink function:
In P2MP networking architecture, Uplink module is able to provide EPON(developing), GPON(developing) ,10G EPON or XG-PON1 uplink interface.
In P2MP networking architecture, fiber protection Type C can be realized through EPON/GPON/10G EPON/ XG-PON1 optional interface(developing).

POTS Subscriber Module:
It provides 24/16/8 lines POTS subscribers access and supports line test (112)function.

Power Module
The ZXA10 F832 power module supports AC power supply.
AC power adopts 110 V / 220 V AC power supply. AC power plug uses the international standard 3-pin plug with working voltage ranging from 90 VAC to 286 VAC, frequency within 50 Hz±5%.
ZXA10 F832 Software Architecture:
The ZXA10 F832 software architecture is composed of NM sub-system, broadband sub-system, VoIP subsystem , bearer sub-system and operation support sub-system.
Standard Compliance
The ZXA10 F832 complies with IEEE 802.3 series standards:
It provides symmetric up/downstream 1.25G transmission rate and this complies with IEEE802.3 ah standard.
It supports wavelength division multiplexing technology and one-fiber bidirectional transmission. Its downstream central wavelength is 1490 nm and upstream central wavelength is 1310 nm.
It supports Ethernet service transmission in format of 802.3 Ethernet frame and this complies with IEEE802.3ah standard.
It adopts 1000BASE-PX20 or 1000BASE-PX20+ physical interface, PMD layer complies with chapter 60, IEEE 802.3-2005.
Multi-Point Control Protocol (MPCP):
Multi-Point control Protocol (MPCP) defines MAC control mechanism in P2MP network, it is complied with chapter 64, IEEE 802.3-2005.
Encryption mechanism:
It supports triple churning mechanism of China Telecom 2.1 spec (CTC). After MPCP Discovery and OAM Discovery, system starts interact churing key, then encrypts all downstream traffic, including data packets, MAC control frames and OAM frames, etc.
